Intercultural Business Communication Management is the process of learning how to develop knowledge and awareness and putting these skills into practice in communicating across different cultures in business.

The interpretation of simple words such as 'Yes' or 'No Problem' across the cultures of the world can be diverse. Having a knowledge of the language spoken in that country alone is only the first step in success in doing business abroad and working with people from different cultures. Understanding your own business culture in relation to another's is the answer. For example, someone educated in Japan and someone educated in Germany would be very different in the way that they would have typically been taught to think in their respective education systems. In Japan, known as a "High Context" culture, reading between the lines and indirect instructions are seen as good manners, but in Germany which is known as a "low context culture" directness and clarity of communication are prized. Potential for misunderstandings to arise based on the totally different communication styles is high.

Culture is the silent language
